Editing and Sound
Editing surprisingly went smoothly, the freeze frames matched up perfectly, and out storyboard visions came to life! However, we had so much trouble with the sound editing. Wonda and I used GarageBand to perfectly fade both songs so it can convey the transitions better in the film. We had to sacrifice the beginning of Sao Paolo (which was our favorite part) to fade the song. Overall, editing was fluid and cohesive, except for the sound.

Last minute shooting and mini crisis
We had to re-shoot Andy's part because the original part was too dark.
We did encounter a problem with editing and sound. The Sao Paolo song and No Left Ear can't fade, which is crucial for the opening since it adds a flow to the sound, which conveys the transitions better. So we have to edit the sound on GarageBand to make the fade, and re-edit to match the new song. We have a lot of work after school, but hopefully things will flow well since we edited most of the footage.

Final Footage
Camila filmed two of the bandmates, Andy and Shaggy. She made sure to film the part where we are hopefully going to do the freeze frames. The shots were as symmetrical and clean as possible, to make the editing flow better and also look aesthetically pleasing.
We took full advantage of the clear blue sky and used it had a great background to add color to the shots. |

Rough drafts
Camila edited the last scenes of the film opening! We still have to add the song, São Paolo to match the beat throughout the film opening. But i'm so glad the footage is coming to life! Editing isn't necessarily my favorite part of the filming, but I'm excited for the specific editing techniques we are using like freeze framing.
Although I'm posting a snippet of the ending, everything is still subject to change through editing or re-filming!
The Last Stretch
Yesterday after school, our group met up at the library to film the lasts scenes for the movie opening. Alejandro changed into a bright colored purple tee and we used different props to convey his extroverted character. We also set the scene behind a dull colored shelf of books to create the contrast.
We had some delays, we decided to switch the camera we spent days looking for, to an iPhone since it captures more and gives it a clear finish when we upload it to iMovie.
We had some advantages when we filmed yesterday. We got to use books in the library to put around the table to make Alejandro look more studious and nerdy. Hence the huge book labeled "College." |
